Loving the Village Life, Part II
Here's a charming decorator apartment right in the heart of the historic village in St. Remy, just recently completely re-done. The host also owns the apartment listed just above; she created both using beautiful Provencale fabrics, traditional antiques, high-quality linens...and all the mod-cons you'll want for a flawless vacation. There are no steps in this ground floor two-bedroom, two-bath apartment, which is walk-able to everything in town...shops, restaurants, cafes, galleries, cinema, museums, etc. Then snuggle in to space, comfort and ease. Perfect for: two couples or a small family (no kids under 12 please) who love a village setting and don't need a pool. One recent guest wrote: "Beautifully decorated...and you cannot get more central. As we were there in hot summer, the cool and tranquil apartment was a true oasis from both the heat and the hustle and bustle of the village. Often we simply didn't want to leave the apartment. It also has excellent use of space and different seating areas if you want to find a quiet corner to chill. The host provided nice touches like a bottle of rose in the wine chiller, coffee pods, tea, sugar. The linen and towels were excellent quality--crisp white cotton. The beds were super comfortable--firm but not too firm. And finally, the showers and bathroom were excellent quality and in pristine condition (which is not always the norm in old French towns/buildings). If you want to be in central St Remy, I can't think of a better place or location." Pricing: €320 per night (3 night min); weekly rate is €2240. Small additional fees for cleaning and traveler taxes will be charged based on the number of adults staying.

A Standout in St. Remy

New on my Top 20 list, I'm so happy to have this extremely special property to offer you! In the heart of St. Remy, this bastide or Maison de Maître (an elegant bourgeois house from the 18th or 19th century) has four bedrooms ensuite (plus a guest toilet), a heated pool, a small but elegant terrace and garden, A/C throughout, parking for three cars...and a divine location in a quiet cul de sac just steps from Centre Ville. As a result, the reviews for this rental have been raves, such as "Dream stay in a magnificent house just restored with great taste!" and "very friendly welcome, a great discovery, will come back for sure!" Prices range from 3850€ per week in low season to 7000€ in July and August.

Comfort and Joy
It’s so rare to find a large, beautiful, historic home like this in a walk-to-town location. Meaning the boulangerie, restaurants, cafés and shops are all a stone’s throw away. On a gated property in peaceful, pretty Fontvieille (between Les Baux and Arles), this 1850 bastide was recently re-done top to bottom and it positively glows…a design-mag editors’ dream. After a long career in hospitality (working with top hotels and Michelin three-star chef Joël Robuchon), the owner decided to take a break to focus on family and pursue her passion for design and décor. This jewel of a house is the result, every inch lovingly crafted with warmth and hospitality in mind. It has eight bedrooms (two ensuite on the ground floor) and seven baths total, easily accommodating 14 adults and 4 kids, with a layout that allows for both privacy and togetherness. Heated pool, pool house, fitness room with A/C, pétanque court, gated parking for four cars…with top restaurants, gorgeous scenery and magnificent Roman ruins just down the road. What more could you ask for? Off season rentals are 3 nights minimum, otherwise it’s a week. Prices range from 1250€ per day (min 3 days) to 1980€ per day.

Magic in the Mountains

Actually, it's more like the foothills than the mountains but here's a gorgeous house with great availability in the most magical setting! With 7 bedrooms and 10 beds, it sleeps 14...with five full bathrooms and one half bath. All the bedrooms have A/C. Ideally nestled in the Alpilles mountain range, with incredible rock hills and lush vineyards climbing around the property, this 18th-century mas has been lovingly restored and updated. It sits on 3,800m2 of landscaped grounds with a large (11m x 5.25m) heated pool...and beautiful unobstructed views. Have breakfast in the traditional pebbled courtyard in front; have dinner poolside under the pergola while the sun sets on the vineyards behind the house. Generous living spaces include a 60m2 living room and a 40m2 dining room, both with original arched stone ceilings. This home is ideal for multiple families or large groups who want the peace and quiet beauty of the countryside but also to be close to charming Provencal towns such as Eygalières, Maussane, St. Remy and Les Baux. You're 35 min from the Avignon TGV and 45 minutes from Marseille Airport. Nearby, enjoy wine tasting, outdoor markets, cooking classes, horseback riding, golf, tennis, hiking, historic tours, fantastic biking and much more. Pricing: 1200€ to 1600€ per night; 7-night minimum in high season please.
Laid-Back and Luxurious

One of the many things we adore about this one-of-a-kind property is the flexibility it offers to couples, families and groups. Singles and couples can rent one B&B room with en-suite bath in the large, art-filled, four-bedroom villa...sharing the public spaces and pool with others. Or, privatize the house, take all four suites and have the large kitchen, living and dining areas, pool, sun room and terraces to yourself. Another possibility is to book one of four "mazet" cottages, each a luxurious home in itself with outdoor terraces, gardens and shared pool. (There are two heated pools, one for adults only.) Each mazet cottage has full kitchen, living room and either one or two bedrooms; one has a sleeping loft for kids. No matter which lodging you choose, you'll experience pure country calm, horses grazing next door and stellar views of lush landscaping (olive and fruit trees, lavender, etc.) with the Alpilles Mountains beyond. This is a fantastic option for retreats, workshops, reunions, weddings...or just the most-idyllic weekend or week (or more!) in Provence for a couple or family. And it's all just 1 km from one of our most-prized villages. Rooms and cottages range from €170 to €500 per night, depending on size and season. Weekly rates for cottages are €1300 to €2900, while rental of the entire four-suite home will cost €5800€ to €9200 per week. Privatizing the whole property (27 people max) is roughly €23,000 per week in high season.
